What I Want to Design

Hello there! Right to the point of this post, I'm not sure what type of Industrial designer I really want to be. Part of me loves ergonomics and usability. I want to design things to make life easier for people, to make things that work leaving aesthetics in the dust until I have a product that works at its most basic form. However another part of me wants to go crazy and design those silly little knick-knacks you'd find at a tourist shop like dancing carrots and little crickets that flap their wings while chirping La Bamba. I suppose that what I end up designing comes secondarily to where. My ultimate dream is to make my way as a designer in Maine. Hey, why not dream big?
